The Moon and Star Boy
Colors: Honoring St. Benedicts in West Oak Lane, where I learned what family means.
- Apology for the past: To my Grandma, mothers/fathers, and aunties/uncles, either by blood or calling. I apologize for the hard times I’ve given you when I was trying to understand life. For the late nights, I kept you up not knowing what I was up to. For the harsh words used when not knowing how to truly communicate. Know that it was my pain, not my heart.
- Thanks for the present: Thank you for giving me what little you had and for trying the best with what you knew. Thank you for the love, even though it may not have always come in the form of words, but it kept me warm, filled my belly, protected me from the many dangers of this world.
- Pledge for the future: It is my pledge to take what you’ve taught me to the next level with my future children, grandchildren, and all who cross my path, once I’m in your role. I also pledge to show and tell you how much you mean to me every chance I get. I love you always
